NASSCO Training

Mar-Tech is pleased to offer the newly released Canadian Edition of the Pipeline Assessment and Certification Program (PACP®), Manhole Assessment (MACP®) and Lateral Assessment (LACP®) Programs.  We are also able to provide re-certification training to those who have taken the course previously but need to renew their certification.

The Canadian Edition includes the NASSCO PACP® manual (Currently version 6.01) and CSA’s plus 4012 Visual Sewer Pipe Inspection Technical Guide. These resources provide industry with the ability to accurately model infrastructure assets using standard tools and methodology common across Canada and the United States.

PACP® provides a standardized, industry-supported pipe condition evaluation tool, with the goal of providing comprehensive, reliable data to describe the sewer pipe. This data helps in prioritization, planning, and renovation of wastewater collection systems.

The accompanying CSA plus 4012 Visual Sewer Inspection Technical Guide introduces the concept of distress and defect “severity” and “extent”, provides a framework to organize distress and defect codes into “primary failure modes”, and maps the PACP® codes into the framework – a significant addition to accepted practice in Canada.

Read about NASSCO’s work with CSA in the Spring 2010 edition of the NASSCO Times available as a downloadable pdf at this link.

The PACP is a North American standard for sewer defect identification and assessment. It provides standardization and consistency to the methods in which sewer pipe conditions are evaluated and TV inspection results are managed. Developed in partnership with the Water Research Centre (WRc plc), the PACP is an adaptation of the UK’s TV inspection coding system.

Some of the benefits of PACP training are:

  • Language understood by inspectors, reviewers and engineers and decision-makers throughout the industry.
  • Consistent means of benchmarking collection data, easing comparison of different data sets.
  • PACP definitions help CCTV pipeline inspectors to record consistent observations.
Training Options (Cost is per person):

Recertification course (1 Day) – $750.00
